Thumbs Up Target! Gracie 20 months

I love my Target store! I do. It’s love. My Target has a Starbucks inside – can you blame me?! (And I do refer to it as being mine as if I have something to do with ownership, which I clearly do not). I feel so strongly about my Target that I pretty much have no use for any other in the area. I am fully aware that the products and layout are virtually identical, but I’ll admit it, I think mine is better. This is not rational, I know that, but it’s true. I really love mine, and I’m not going to be so crazy about yours…

A Line in the Sand(wich)

No one would ever accuse my nephew, Mason, of being a picky eater. When asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner, he replied, “Sushi and crab legs.” He’s four…So it came as a surprise when my sister-in-law, Jamie, was recently met with an unwavering refusal in response to her lunchtime suggestion. This is how it went:

Grilled Cheese yaydiy.com

Jamie, “Mason, do you want a grill cheese?”
Mason, “No.”
Jamie, “Why? They’re delicious.”
Mason, “NO!”  
Jamie, “I think you’ll really like it.”
Mason, “NO! I don’t want girl cheese – I’m a boy!”

Girl Buttons, Boy Buttons

Somehow my youngest child speaks with a southern drawl. This wouldn’t be particularly noteworthy if it weren’t for the fact that neither my husband nor I have a southern accent. Nor do any relatives, close friends, distant acquaintances, or any TV cartoon she has ever been exposed to in her two and a half years. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s rather charming. It’s sort of Cajun yet has a feeling of being a little bit out-of-place in time. Perhaps Gone With the Wind-ish…. In any case, I just love to listen to her talk!
